I think you’ll appreciate, and even come to prefer this online and remote interaction client-advisor relationship. We can still be high-touch and personal in a digital world.

  • Step 1: Initiate Contact

    First impressions are important. I strive to provide a welcoming and exciting client experience from the beginning. Using the Scheduling Link you can easily book your free consultation and prepare for our introductory Discovery session.

    I encourage prospective clients to continue exploring the Canopy Financial Solutions website to learn about our unique investment approach and other planning / consulting solutions.

  • Step 2: Discovery Consultation

    After booking a time that works best for you, you will see a scheduling confirmation page and then redirected and asked to complete a Discovery Consultation survey. This is important so I can learn more about your goals and be best prepared to propose recommendations and next steps when we meet.

    In this day and age of technology, meeting virtually via Google Meet video call actually allows for a more thorough discussion where I can share files, processes, philosophy and client resources without overwhelming you with a large folder of papers that you’ll never look at again.

  • Step 3: Client Engagement Agreement

    Following our Discovery Consultation the ball is in your court. When you’re ready to move forward just let me know and I’ll put together an official client agreement and proposal that clearly defines our way ahead.

    After a simple digital signature, we are ready to put your plan into action.

    At this point I ask you to schedule a follow-up Client Roadmap Review so we can prepare for onboarding and refine your retirement objectives.

  • Step 4: Client Roadmap Review

    The purpose of this call is to close any information gaps necessary to open new accounts and develop your Retirement Roadmap so you have a visual picture of your future.

    Hope is not a strategy — let’s develop some clarity by aggregating your holistic financial picture into a real wealth management plan and experience. Mike Tyson famously said, “everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” A plan is only useful if it’s able to adapt. The Nitrogen Wealth Retirement Map and other client resources allow us to stress test your plan and identify vulnerabilities so we can plan accordingly.

  • Step 5: Implementation

    “A good plan, violently executed now is better than a perfect plan next week.” - Gen. George Patton

    Patton takes Tyson’s words and gives us some perspective on action and urgency. Investment returns are the single biggest driver on your ability to retire well so we need to get the ball rolling on establishing the new accounts and portfolio strategies described in our agreement and proposal.

  • Step 6: Checkpoints and Assessments

    Your financial plan is more than a fancy placeholder in your library of rich mahogany and leather-bound books — it’s your future!

    Your priorities and needs WILL change. That is the benefit of working with an independent RIA and fiduciary who is flexible enough to change with you and manage your assets in accordance with your ever-changing needs.

    I provide a Mid-Year and End-Year Client Checkpoint Review to cover key changes over the past six months, confirm portfolio strategies are still aligned with your goals, and focus on timely events to round out your holistic financial health.

    In addition to these formal semi-annual engagements, I communicate regularly through compliant email and text messaging to share key market and economic updates and DIY financial planning tips and resources.
